When life gets a little complicated I often start simplifying my meals. Maybe in someway I hope that the simplicity in what I am creating can bring some simplicity into my life. Smoothies for me are usually where it starts.
What ever happened to a good old fashioned plain jane wam bam thank you ma'am smoothie? The one pre superfood days sans gogi berries, hemp hearts and special powders. Not that there is anything wrong with those, but I just want to remind all of us (myself especially) that you can make a damn good basic smoothie with less than three ingredients.

The Classic Banana Nut Smoothie
2 frozen bananas
1 tablespoon nut butter
1-2 cups water or nut milk
There are only 3 ingredients here so dont miss the very important step of using frozen bananas. That is what makes the consistency silky smooth and delightfully decadent. Wink. It took everything in me not to take this smoothie to the next level by adding avocado, some greens, etc.
